Beth Wurtmann has been a resident of Saratoga Springs since 1991. She was a Communications Fellow at the Regents Research Fund, a non-profit organization affiliated with the New York State Department of Education where she produced multimedia tools that informed parents, educators and communities about educational policies. Prior to this, Wurtmann was a broadcast journalist for more than two decades, in Albany, San Diego, and Syracuse. She was a foreign correspondent in Cologne, Germany for a PBS public affairs show, covering the fall of the Berlin Wall. Wurtmann earned her Master of Science degree in Interactive Media at Quinnipiac University, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. She brings direct experience in external and internal communications, video production, media relations and social media to the Commission, as well as years of reporting on government policy as a reporter.
